Powerful Affirmations for Personal Growth & Self-Worth


If your goal is to live a happier life, affirmations are one the greatest tools you can have. Our affairs of the inner self begin and end with the quality of our mindset. Personally, with this knowledge, I think it’s no surprise that using affirmations as a way to train your thought process has become such a fundamental tool in so many people’s self-care routine.


About two and a half years ago, after I was in my car accident, I began to slip mentally closer and closer to rock bottom. Being stuck at home day in and day out, unable to work, while also living in a very toxic environment, had me feeling completely hopeless and I lost practically all the confidence I once had in myself. I had no idea where to go from there. Fast forward a few months and I meet Tabatha – a beautiful, high energy, positive soul. It took a bit of time after she moved in but we quickly began to grow a friendship and as it grew I began to learn amazing things from her; I learned the importance of a positive mindset, and how much something as simple as saying affirmations, can change so many things in your life.


I have always been a spiritual person, but now more than ever, I believe that our mindset is what truly paints the foundation of our reality. There are always going to be times here and there where life gets hard or complicated but you’ve got to remember that there is always going to be something to be grateful for; and to keep that positive mindset even through hard times, listening to and repeating powerful daily affirmations are going to be tremendously beneficial.




So, what are affirmations?



Affirmations are positive messages you can listen to or repeat to yourself out loud. When you continuously repeat something, you are affirming it. What you speak becomes reality when you say it enough.


We each have what is called an energy field or an aura surrounding us, this field collects our words and thoughts. So, if it’s filled with negativity, negativity is what will flow into your life because that’s what you’re focused on, but if you are repeating positive and powerful affirmations and resetting your views then your life will change for the better.


Our minds are constantly soaking up information, with or without our knowing or permission. So, in order to have the best outlook possible, it’s imperative that we make use of powerful affirmations to feed our mind and soul with the right kind of messages.

When repeating affirmations to ourselves we must speak in the present, with honesty and love, and we must believe them. Anything you state in your affirmation after saying “I AM..” must be positive and said with the best intentions because your subconscious is going to take this and run with it, it is going to start to rewire your thinking.





Here, let’s say some now!


I want you to go find a mirror and stand in front of it so you can see yourself, this way you’re truly directing them to yourself.


Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, in the nose and out the mouth, clearing the mind of any needless thoughts.


Now open your eyes.


I want you to see this person staring back at you and I want you to repeat these 3 affirmations.


I AM BEAUTIFUL, I AM POWERFUL, I AM UNSTOPPABLE!


Repeat these affirmations five times, notice how they resonate within you; how are you feeling when you’ve finished?




How do we prepare our minds to receive these affirmations?



You can say your affirmations at any time of the day, and however many times a day you’d like, just remember to stay consistent. I personally like to do some breathing exercises or a quick meditation before I move forward with my affirmations. This helps to clear the mind of all the needless clutter and truly focus on the words you’re about to say or listen to.


If you’re going to listen to your affirmations on Youtube or somewhere else online many will have calming background music that can help to soothe your cluttered mind; these are great for end of the day practices where you listen to them as you fall asleep. Even if you fall asleep listening to the affirmations, your subconscious will still be taking in everything that is being repeated.


Since our subconscious trusts our own voice more than anyone else’s, another great way to listen to affirmations is to record them as voice notes or download an app like ThinkUp – where you can record them yourself over tranquil background music – and play them whenever you need.

3. I am the only one who can determine my self-worth and I am worthy of my dreams.


4. I am choosing to live with a positive mindset.


5. I release myself of negative thoughts, especially negative thoughts about myself.

7. I’m worthy of the best and I choose me.


8. I love myself, respect myself and accept myself exactly as I am.


9. I am courageous and speak my truth.


10. I realize my power to create my life.


11. My mind and body are in perfect balance, I am a harmonious being.


12. My strength is greater than any struggle.


13. I am always protected by my higher self.


14. I accept myself for who I am.


15. I choose to release any hurt and resentment I have been holding onto.


16. I am the master of my own thoughts; I am courageous and I am wise.
